Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial of them, for they were given to transgression.

But when they reached the Junction, they forgot (about) their Fish, which took its course through the sea (straight) as in a tunnel.

He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!"

So wait with patience for the Command of thy Lord, and be not like the Companion of the Fish,- when he cried out in agony.

Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame.

你向他们询问那个滨海城市的情况吧。当时他们在安息日违法乱纪。当时，每逢他们守安息日的时候，鱼儿就浮游到他们面前来；每逢他们不守安息日的时候，鱼儿就不到他们的面前来。由于他们不义的行为，我才这样考验他们。

当他俩到达两海相交接处的时候，忘记了他俩的鱼，那尾鱼便入海悠然而去。

他说：“你告诉我吧，当我们到达那座磐石下休息的时候，（我究竟是怎样的呢？）我确已忘记了那尾鱼--只因恶魔我才忘记了告诉你，--那尾鱼已入海而去，那真是怪事！”

故你应当忍受你的主的判决，不要像那个葬身鱼腹的人一样。当时，他拗著怒呼吁他的主；

大鱼就吞了他，同时，他是应受谴责的。
