If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro.

Or who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist in insolent impiety and flight (from the Truth).

She was asked to enter the lofty Palace: but when she saw it, she thought it was a lake of water, and she (tucked up her skirts), uncovering her legs. He said: "This is but a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass." She said: "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul: I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds."

Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!

假若我怜悯他们，而且解除他们所遭的苦难，他们必固执横蛮， 而徘徘徊于歧途之中。

谁能供给你们呢？如果至仁主扣留他的给养。不然，他们固执著骄傲和勃逆。

有人对她说：“你进那宫殿去吧！”当她看见那座宫殿的时候她以为宫殿里是一片汪洋，（就提起衣裳）露出她的两条小腿。他说：“这确是用玻璃造成的光滑的宫殿。”她说：“我的主啊！我确是自欺的，我（现在）跟着素莱曼归顺真主--全世界的主。”

或如重重黑暗，笼罩着汪洋大海，波涛澎湃，上有黑云，黑暗重重叠叠， 观者伸出手来时，几乎不见五指。真主没有给谁光明，谁就绝无光明。
