When
he saw
the moon
rising
he said,
`This
(is) my Lord.`
But when
it set
he said,
`If
(does) not
guide me
my Lord,
I will surely be
among
the people
who go astray.`

the sun
is permitted
for it -
that
it overtakes
the moon,
and not
the night
(can) outstrip
the day,
but all
in
an orbit
they are floating.
And made
the moon
therein
a light
and made
the sun
a lamp?
When he saw the moon rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord." But when the moon set, He said: "unless my Lord guide me, I shall surely be among those who go astray."
It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).
